Custom-made itinerary - Allibert, the essentials of Thailand

Bangkok · Chiang Mai · Mae Wang · Ko Yao Yai

After visiting Bangkok, we head to Chiang Mai, the jewel of the north where we stay for 3 nights to discover the city and its surroundings. This mountainous region at the borders of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand is located at the confluence of the Mekong and is the land of many ethnic minorities where the beauty of the rice paddy landscapes is matched only by the smile of the inhabitants populating this region. Then we fly towards the Andaman coast where we will rest on the peaceful island of Koh Yao Yai.

Accomplice of Thai getaways, based in Chiang Mai

Discover Thailand, it's not about rushing from one temple to another. It's about listening, meeting, feeling. I'll be by your side to gently reveal it to you.

Dylan

Dylan guides travelers in Thailand with attentive listening and a genuine desire to transform their ideas into a smooth, balanced and personalized itinerary. Client advisor at Sawa Discovery, he takes the time to understand each person's wishes to propose a trip that matches both the desired pace and the spirit of the country. What he particularly loves about Thailand is that human warmth felt in daily gestures, smiles, markets, villages and simple exchanges. He also appreciates the richness of the North, particularly around Chiang Mai and Pai, where mountains, hot springs and a peaceful atmosphere offer another perspective on the country. A food lover and curious by nature, Dylan never fails to recommend a good khao soi, the emblematic dish of the North, as a delicious gateway into Thai culture.

Everything you need to know about Thailand

Our local experts share their knowledge to prepare your trip.

When to visit Thailand

You can travel to Thailand year-round, but each season offers a different experience. From November to February, the cool season is ideal for a first trip to Thailand, with pleasant temperatures and little rain. From March to May, the heat is more intense, particularly in the central and northern regions. From June to October, the green season brings brief tropical showers, but also lush landscapes and a more peaceful atmosphere. Our local experts will advise you on the best time to visit based on your itinerary, whether you wish to explore Bangkok, Chiang Mai, the southern islands, or more off-the-beaten-path regions.

Budget and pricing for a trip to Thailand

Thailand remains an attractive destination for tailor-made travel, offering an excellent balance between comfort, authenticity, and quality of service. The budget depends mainly on the length of your stay, accommodation level, domestic transportation, guide selection, and tour pace. A Thailand circuit with a driver, charming accommodations, domestic flights, and private experiences will not have the same cost as a simpler, more independent stay. Our English-speaking local agency in Thailand builds each proposal based on your wishes and budget, with a clear vision of the services included.

Why organize your trip with a local agency in Thailand?

Choosing a local agency in Thailand gives you access to genuine ground knowledge, distances, seasons, accommodations and the most suitable experiences. At Sawa Discovery, part of the Nomadays collective, our English-speaking advisors based in Thailand design tailor-made trips away from standard itineraries. Whether you dream of a cultural circuit, immersion in the north, a beach getaway or a more exclusive discovery of the country, we craft a seamless, balanced itinerary that reflects your travel style.

What to see on a Thailand tour?

A Thailand circuit can combine temples, markets, tropical nature, local encounters and paradise islands. Bangkok captivates with its energy, palaces and street food. The north, around Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, invites you to discover mountains, villages, ethical sanctuaries and local traditions. Further south, Krabi, Koh Lanta, Koh Samui and Koh Tao offer beaches, lagoons and marine life. For a more authentic Thailand experience, lesser-known regions like Isan or Khao Sok National Park allow you to venture beyond the classics without compromising on comfort.

What our travelers say

This organized trip by the agency was once again a great success. Not a single hiccup over 3 weeks. I highly recommend them—their on-the-ground knowledge made it possible to tailor everything to our wishes and expectations. Going through the agency has been a real relief for us when it comes to transfers, boat tickets, train and flight bookings, as well as hotel reservations and activity tickets. Nothing to think about except the pickup time.

Thailand can be visited year-round, but the best time is between November and February (dry and cool season). The north is cooler from November to January, while the southern beaches are ideal from December to April. Entry conditions depend on your nationality and change regularly. Many passports benefit from visa exemption for short tourist stays; beyond that, a tourist visa can be obtained from the Thai consular representation before departure. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your entry date. Check the rules applicable to your nationality with the Thai consular authorities before booking — our local team will assist you in preparing your documents.

For a tailor-made quality trip, budget between €150 and €250 per day per person, including accommodation, meals, internal transport and activities. International flights (€500-900 return) are additional. Our detailed quote lets you see each expense line for full budget transparency.

Absolutely! We tailor each itinerary to our travelers' profiles. For families, we prioritize relaxed paces, family-friendly accommodations (villas, suites), fun activities (elephant encounters, snorkeling, cooking classes), and comfortable private transfers. Children love Thailand!
