As you approach Koh Tao by ferry, the first sight is the splendid Sairee Beach. If you prefer staying on land, you can leisurely stroll and sunbathe on the shore. Although Anankhira Villas does not offer on-site dining, you can enjoy meals at various establishments along the seaside. Delivery services are available for those who prefer dining in their villa. After sunset, the streets softly light up, hosting night markets for enjoying tropical or Western Thai street food.
How to get there?
Koh Tao is located in the Gulf of Thailand. The journey to the island typically involves a combination of air travel to the nearest airport and a ferry transfer.
For the first step by air, the closest and most convenient airports are located in Chumphon and Surat Thani on the west coast of Thailand. Daily domestic flights connect these destinations from the capital city, Bangkok.
Upon exiting the airport terminal, you can take various land transportation options (taxi, bus, or minivan) to reach the nearest port: Thung Makham Noi Pier for Surat Thani and Chumphon Port for Chumphon.
Upon reaching the port, it's time to board the ferry to Koh Tao. There are multiple departures throughout the day, so be sure to check schedules and plan accordingly. The crossing from the mainland to the island takes between one and a half and three hours, depending on your departure port (Surat Thani or Chumphon).
Boats usually dock at Mae Haad Pier, the main entry point to Koh Tao for maritime transport. Taxis are readily available there to complete the journey to Anankhira Villas.
In addition to scheduling, remember to book your accommodation and tickets in advance. Koh Tao attracts large numbers of tourists during the peak tourist season, especially from December to April. Anankhira Villas' staff can arrange a transfer from the Koh Tao pier to facilitate your arrival; contact the resort in advance to arrange this service.
