How do ziplines work in Chiang Mai?

To enjoy the cool nature and increase your chances of spotting animals, inquire beforehand about the landscapes, available facilities, and safety instructions from your guide, and be ready to depart early in the morning. Watch videos to immerse yourself in this unique adventure. Once on-site, you must first fill out your personal data form. Then, supervisors provide you with equipment. Standard gear includes a harness, helmet, gloves, and lifeline, but you may also receive special shoes to traverse rope bridges.

When you're ready, head to the starting platform and listen carefully to the guides' recommendations to experience the adventure with peace of mind. The first zips may be intimidating, but don't be discouraged. Instead, relax and let the ziplines carry you above the trees. You can choose tandem rides to share these exhilarating moments, or even try the Superman version, where the harness is located on your back. Whatever your choice, the most important thing is to have fun!

For your safety, follow the instructions of the guides

Children, adults, or elderly individuals seeking challenges can all enjoy ziplining in Chiang Mai. But beware, for safety reasons, it's imperative to observe certain conditions. The maximum weight allowed is 120 kg, and the minimum height required is 1 meter to properly fit the harness. Naturally, this activity is not suitable for people suffering from vertigo.

For your safety, follow the following instructions:

  • Follow the supervisor's instructions carefully.
  • Ensure your equipment is properly adjusted before launch.
  • Once on the course, do not touch the cable or brake; never use your hands to brake.
  • Hold onto the handles firmly during descent.
  • Keep an eye on other participants, especially if you're doing a tandem slide.
  • Avoid fidgeting or any other risky behavior during the descent (do not take selfies or videos).
  • Wait at least an hour after eating to zipline, and do not drink alcohol.
  • If you have health issues, inform the supervisors before starting the course.

In addition to these recommendations, choose your attire wisely to fully enjoy your ziplining experience in Chiang Mai. Wear shoes that won't easily slip when your feet are suspended in the air. Since you'll be walking to reach the treetops, sneakers are a good option. Put on a long-sleeved shirt and comfortable pants. Tie back your hair or braid it to prevent it from getting tangled with the lines during the descent.
