Kaeo Surakan Cave is open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. local time. Admission is free.

The best time to visit

For safety reasons, access to the cave is closed during the rainy season from October to December, when a stream flows inside.

With perfect sunshine, the best time to visit is from February to May to experience this natural wonder.

How to get there

Nakhon Si Thammarat Airport is approximately 30 kilometers from the cave and serves regular flights from Bangkok.

The site is accessible via the road leading to Khao Luang National Park. Private car travel is recommended. From downtown Nakhon Si Thammarat, take Highway 4015. The cave is 3 kilometers east of the park office. The blue Songthaew heading towards Lan Saka and Khao Kaew serves the cave within a 20-kilometer radius.
