Koh Hong

Off the coast of the Andaman Sea, in Phang Nga Bay, this islet is a favored destination for enthusiasts of exotic expanses. Straight out of a postcard, Koh Hong is the largest island in the Laopilae archipelago. Ineffable, its natural beauty is renowned worldwide.

History has passed down through the ages

In French, "Hong" means chamber. Indeed, viewed from above, the island resembles an open-air apartment with a single entrance. This term also refers to the lagoon and its numerous limestone caves adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. These caves are true paradises for spelunkers and archaeologists. The site is known as a favored shelter for nomadic people. The last known human occupation of Koh Hong dates back more than three centuries.
