Note: During the rainy season from May to October, most of Koh Kut's attractions are closed. As such, visiting during this time is not recommended.
Reach Trat Airport by plane from major cities in Thailand, such as Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, etc. At Trat's Laem Sok port, take a boat to Koh Kut's Ao Salat pier. Various types of boats make the crossing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shuttle services are scarce between April and November due to the low season, so this should be taken into account.
Motorcycles and songthaews are the only fast means of transportation on the island. This isn't a major drawback for tourism, as most of Koh Kut's natural gems are accessible and enjoyable on foot.
The rainforest is teeming with mosquitoes. In addition to sunscreen, always have insect repellent on hand. It's better to be safe.
For nighttime outings on Koh Kut, bring a torch or portable lighting device with you. Due to the lack of infrastructure, the streets are often poorly lit.
