Established in 2009, this protected area of 1,236 km² is Thailand's 114th national park. The nature reserve is bounded by two provinces: Kanchanaburi and Phetchaburi. It forms part of the Western Forest Complex. The park is renowned for its wild expanses dotted with waterfalls, caves, mountains, and waterways. It overflows with life and boasts exceptional landscapes. This protected zone attracts numerous ecotourists and trekking enthusiasts each year.

Where is the park headquarters located?

The entrance and reserve office are situated in western Thailand, in Kanchanaburi Province. You'll find an orientation center, restaurants, shops, and various accommodation options. Visitors may bring their tents and camp on-site.

Eclectic Wildlife

The park is a paradise for animals. This nature reserve connects with Myanmar's forests, Kaeng Krachan National Park, and Sai Yok National Park. Numerous mammals and birds have made their home here and live peacefully in their respective habitats. Activities at Thong Pha Phum National Park

At the park, early risers are rewarded with a wonderful spectacle from elevated areas like Doi Tong Palae. Before 5 a.m., they can observe splendid seas of clouds. Sunrises and sunsets are memorable. The high altitude is free from light pollution. At night, constellations shine brilliantly.

Accompanied by guides, trekking enthusiasts can traverse the park's forests to reach remote jungle areas. The reserve also features trails for cyclists.

Thong Pha Phum National Park is known for its magnificent waterfalls. Among the most celebrated are: Namtok Chet Mit, Namtok Chokkadin, and Namtok Pha Pae.

Entrance Fees

To visit the park, plan on 200 baht per adult and 100 baht per child.

Best Time to Visit?

The hot season runs from February to April. This is the best period for observing wildlife. Animals are visible at the park's water sources.

Visiting during winter is also possible. The landscape changes harmoniously. This period typically extends from November to January.

How to Get There?

Thong Pha Phum National Park is accessible by car. More economical, public transportation is the preferred mode of travel for local tourists. They begin by taking bus 8203 toward Amphoe Thong Pha Phum district. From this location, they reach the reserve entrance by songthaew.
