In Thailand, Koh Kut and Koh Kood refer to the same island. Located at the southern edge of the Koh Chang archipelago, this destination is renowned for its lush jungles, turquoise waters and dreamy beaches.

Island Overview

Measuring 25 by 12 kilometers, Koh Kood is home to over 2,000 inhabitants. They are concentrated in fishing villages in the northern and southeastern parts of the island. Administrative offices, the police station and hospital are located in the western area, at Klong Hin Dam.

Klong Chao is the ideal destination for travelers seeking comfort alongside escape. Most of Koh Kut's tourism infrastructure is built around its idyllic beach. Restaurants, hotels, shops and bars offer their services at reasonable prices.

Koh Kut: An Authentic and Tropical Tourist Destination

The island is a paradise for those seeking serene and private vacations in Thailand, perfect for relaxation enthusiasts and leisure seekers in a peaceful setting.

The famous white sand banks of Koh Kood are located in its southern and western areas. Those who reach them are invited to a highly immersive visual, auditory and sensory experience. Equally intriguing, the eastern coastline remains unfortunately inaccessible due to the lack of passable roads.

Despite the existence of rubber tree plantations, tropical forest remains largely untouched. It is composed of numerous exotic plants: coconut palms, various palm species, mangroves, and more. There are picturesque waterfalls and rivers throughout. Bringing you into contact with exceptional biodiversity, jungle adventures are thrilling and exhilarating.

At Koh Kut, fishing is regulated and represents one of the island's traditional means of livelihood. Mangroves are preserved and the marine depths teem with life. A blessing for snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts.

Year-Round Weather

Koh Kut has a humid tropical climate. Heat and humidity are constantly present in the atmosphere.

Enjoy optimal weather conditions at Koh Kut between January and March or November to December. Comfortable temperatures, more sunshine, less rain, calm winds and seas. These are the ideal seasons to explore the island or stay here.

Note: During the rainy season from May to October, most of Koh Kut's attractions are closed. As you might expect, visiting during this period is not recommended.

How to Get There

Reach Trat Airport by flying from major Thai cities such as Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi. From Laem Sok Port in Trat, take a boat to Koh Kut's Ao Salat pier. Numerous vessels make the crossing between 10 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. Shuttles are infrequent between April and November due to the low season. Keep this in mind when planning.

Getting Around Koh Kut

Motorbikes and songthaews are the island's only rapid modes of transportation. This is not a major drawback for tourism, since most of Koh Kut's natural treasures are accessible and best appreciated on foot.

Essential Know-How for Better Trip Planning
