Packing your bags for a trip is an important and crucial step in organizing your journey to Thailand. Between the fear of missing out and the fear of overpacking, it's important to find a balance and especially not to forget the essentials. To help you prepare your luggage, we provide you with a (non-exhaustive) list of what we think is necessary for your stay with Sawa’Discovery!
Clothing:
- Light and fluid clothing: T-shirts, lightweight shorts, and pants.
- A lightweight long-sleeved T-shirt for cooler evenings at higher altitudes and to protect against mosquitoes in the late afternoon.
- A sweater or jacket for cooler evenings at higher altitudes or bus journeys that may sometimes overuse air conditioning.
- A waterproof jacket or K-Way in case of rainy days.
- Hiking shoes or good sneakers if your itinerary includes treks or hikes.
- A pair of sandals or flip-flops that are easy to remove since in Thailand it's necessary to regularly take off your shoes to enter a temple or someone's home, for example.
- A small backpack for carrying the essentials when you go for a walk.
- Swimsuit and beach towel or sarong.
- A scarf
Essentials:
- A pair of sunglasses.
- A hat or cap.
- Sunscreen
- Mosquito repellent.
- A travel first aid kit with some basic medications (paracetamol, antiemetic, antidiarrheal…), antiseptic…
Useful items:
- A camera
- A power bank, very useful when traveling to remote areas with limited access to electricity.
- A waterproof plastic pouch to keep all your important documents dry.
- A copy of your passport and travel insurance documents in case of loss.
- A water bottle for excursions off the beaten track.
- Universal power adapter.
- A small translation book to communicate more easily with local populations.
